Dear Technical Students,

It was a pleasure addressing all of you.

I hope you could understand the value that SAP creates for the organisation and for the careers of the people.

Some important points I would like to re-iterate in this message to you so that it gets internalised and you find yourselves on the right track with respect to your careers.

To begin with do not forget that the definition of the career I spoke about that "it is a period of life to maximise our earnings and satisfaction through jobs/multiple jobs based on interest and capabilities and creating competencies to reach the actualisation level of well being.

Always remember to maximise your earnings by figuring out the best possible alternative job available to you which is based on your interest and capability. For ex. you have seen and the links that we have provided will suggest that between SAP programming and Java Programming, you can maximise your earnings through ABAP programming on which SAP works. So understanding of alternatives available to us helps us to find the source of maximising earnings and satisfaction.

The second point that I would like to stress upon is that you should not treat SAP as a software application as I explained because you will understand the depth of the concept behind this application and therefore always remember SAP as a central nervous system of the organisation.

The third point I would like to stress upon is about de-risking your ability to get good jobs by diversifying your competencies. I spoke about Make vs. Buy and you understand that the programming knowledge of the past like .Net, Java is not sustainable from jobs and opportunities perspective given that products like SAP has taken the world by storm. My advice therefore would be to build competencies around SAP, the technology that rules the world today. So in your profile if you will have ABAP, HANA, BI,(SAP Skills) and Java, .Net etc. and internship in Programming and Analytics that makes your profile richer, you will create an absolutely risk free and enriching career for yourself.

SAP for the programming community is not a luxury, it is a necessity and in a technology centric world, the better you are equipped with various technology knowledge the better can be your job, career and earning potential.
